Community Sector

The collaboration of Foundation and community started by the strong effort of Paron Israsena, Bangkok Chaow Kwan Yuen, Dr. Suchin Petarak, and working people from Suksapatana Foundation. The core goal is to find ways to develop those grassroots farmers using learning as a turning point: tuning the grassroots to become taproots who have the ability to learn to change the quality of life one’s life in order to be free from debt and insolvent conditions. The project also encourages people in the community to learn to manage their income and expenses, cultivation plan, and investment.

Previous Projects with Community Sector

⇒ Lim Tong

Development of Ban Limthong community started with self-development of Mrs. Sanit Thip Nang Rong or Na noi, a villager in the village that Suksapatana Foundation played a role in teaching Na Noi to read and write Thai, take notes for household accounting, harvest record, daily use, various problems she encountered, and how to solve problems. Thaicom Foundation through the Suksapatana Foundation provided a computer to help Na Noi manage those data. Calculating expenses and put them into categories allows Na Noi to see the problems in expenses that occurred, and, as a result, can reduce unnecessary expenses in the household. It is the beginning that Nam Noi sees opportunities for young adults as well as people in the community to learn. Therefore, together with the Foundation, she helped establish a computer center to encourage young people to learn in the creative theory with intelligence in which students are able to use knowledge in the technology they have received to find things they are interested in learning by themselves.

⇒ Ban Sam Kha School

Constructionism learning style started in Samkha since 2001, after the village was affected by the expansion of urbanization into the area. The urbanization caused problems to the people in the village as they started to suffer from physical and mental poverty, debt and drug problems. The change began when a Facilitator came to educate the villagers according to the Constructionism concept. They started to learn from the real practice, take notes, analyze data, solve a problem based on the actual condition. This encourages them to share their problems, brainstorm, help to solve problems as a community where organizations in all sectors, both public and private, are involved. This resulted in creating a positive attitude towards learning among the people in the community that it can be done either by oneself and as a group.
